Thank you, unfortunately this was not the solution and completely understand your reasoning to provide this information. Thank you for taking the time to look into this but I can see that this is somewhat of an isolated incident. I will likely need to uninstall AMS2, Steam and Virtual Desktop, of which I have partially done to see if this will in fact resolve my issue. Once again, many thanks!

In my opinion, it must be some kind of mirror. There's also Oculus Mirror and other third-party options. If both windows are open, you could check the Task Manager to see if anything else is running!

Well could not find anything obvious in task manager but I’m not smart in these areas.
Too much time taken, and all I want to do is enjoy the sim so will just put up with it.
    Thanks all who offered support

Have you tried without using Virtual Desktop at all? I haven't played VR for a while as I prefer TrackIR, but I never had this duplicate screen issue at all with my Quest 3 and any game, but I don't use Virtual Desktop

Yes I have and do not get that issue with a wired setup. The downside is my battery does not last as long without Bobo. If I charge my Kuject chargeable USB cable while using the headset, I get issues. It will firstly not connect to pc if charging port plugged in prior to turning headset on and if plug it in after, it reports an error of water damage randomly in gameplay, which while racing online is a catastrophe.

    Thank you for your thoughts.

@BistoKid - ok I just looked up VD again and I see it's for using the Quest 3 wirelessly. I could be mistaken - I thought the Quest 3 supported wireless connection to Steam natively? I always play in wired personally as that works for me.

Probably the last thing I can suggest is maybe contact the VD developers - if anyone is going to be an expert on the subject it would be those guys! I looked at their game compatibility list and AMS2 isn't on there (didn't show up with a search anyway). Sorry I couldn't be more help - hopefully you can get it sorted out :)

I use VD because it improves the overall quality incredibly well with little performance drop.

I will look into steam wireless but do not believe it can provide such improvements as VD.

I reached out in VD Discord but never got support there as AMS2 was an unknown with VD.

Thanks again for your continued advice.

Have you tried bypassing Steam and using OpenComposite? It's as easy as copying 2 files when using VD. If you'd like to try I'd be happy to give you direct links to the 2 files, with instructions to get you going. I've been using VD for quite some time. VD's support is a bunch of arrogant, self-important wannabe's, so I understand your frustration with them.

That was the first thing I recommended to him.
@BistoKid Try Composite, it's really worth it. I've had significantly better performance in AMS2 since then. And double mirror will definitely take away your performance again.

Scrolling back through the messages it looks like you never tried OpenComposite, but you did try the Oculus Bypass Detector. If you want to try OC it is only 3 steps. You've stated you aren't tech savvy so I'll try to keep this as simple as possible.

Copy the Oculus Bypass Detector (LibOVRRT64_1.dll) found here into the Automobilista 2 folder, then copy the openxr_api.dll found here into the Automobilista 2/x64 folder (overwriting the one that already exists there). Then in the Virtual Desktop Streamer app set the OpenXR Runtime to VDXR. Now start the game through the VD Games tab. If it works, hurray, you are now running OpenComposite/OpenXR. You can verify this by turning on the VD Performance Monitor and it will show the runtime as VDXR+OC.

If none of this works, then delete the 2 files you added (LibOVRRT64_1.dll and openxr_api.dll) and run a Steam file verification to get back to an original installation of AMS2.

    Good luck!

Amazing that when I was looking through the compatibility list there were plenty of porn games that they support but no AMS2 o_O
