Another VR issue for me. This time AMS2 will not run in VR and to my knowledge, I have not changed anything. I use Virtual Desktop and with the assistance of @dryheat94 and @Xenix74 successfully used the Oculus Bypass Detector for the gains it provides. Happy Days!! However, after the update and running AMS2 through VD I do not enter a VR environment, rather a stream of my desktop. I have verified AMS2 files through Steam, of which one file was downloaded. I then replaced the LibOVRRT64_1.dll and openxr_api.dll in their correct locations, yet still no joy. I have also tried altering the active runtime, to no avail. Again, I am at a total loss and pulling what little hair I have out. Please, please, someone who understands this VR voodoo, help me out! Thanks in advance.
VR works with SteamVR, so its not all VR that dont work I was playing using my Index just an hour ago...
I can start in SteamVR using VD. No Bypass Detector, no OpenComposite, no Meta software installed. First thing... can you select "Switch to VR Mode" from the VD menu? I guess it's possible the Bypass Detector no longer works. I don't use it, so can't test. If you don't run anything from the Meta Store (games/apps) and use VD, I would suggest uninstalling the Meta software. It serves no other purpose than to force you to use the Bypass Detector to run OpenComposite or SteamVR. If the Bypass Detector fails, AMS2 will try to start in Oculus mode, which will fail since you replaced the openvr_api.dll with the OC version.
So glad to see you sir! Just uninstalled Oculus App. I can switch to VR in VD. Just waiting for an AMS2 hotfix, will let you know outcome. Thanks! ** EDIT ** So in VD states... Bitrate = 200 Mbps Max Bitrate = 200 Mbps Codec = HEVC 10-bit Runtime = SteamVR Headset = Quest 3 In SteamVR environment I see AMS2 Logo in rectangle and NEXT UP below it but stays like that while monitor displays AMS loading into the game. Thoughts? Should I verify AMS2 files again and try removing those two dll's we spoke of before? *** EDIT*** Removed DLLs and started through VD. Now I see VDXR+OC in Runtime!! Happy days again!! Cheers @dryheat94
