Anybody knows if there's a way to let the game use more power of the system? I have a Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core and GeForce RTX 4090 (24GB) and while the game runs good in high details on my triples, the gpu load is at like 40% and cpu at 15-20%. Is there any way to use that headroom? Changing ingame details doesn't influence the load, only the fps
(Other modern games easily take full advantage of the gpu)

Question on changing last name and first name

I can change my last name and first name via the menu button on top right corner inside the game. However, my records on the time trial leaderboard are not updated. The records still use my old name, and my personal best lap time becomes empty as well.

May I know if anybody encounter the same problem? Or, could there be any resolution?

Time Trial and Multiplayer use your Steamname, change your name in Steam and when you set a time on the leaderboard it will show your new name.

    Hello,

Since a few days, my game keeps randomly crashing, with a black screen or a freeze. But I can hear the game is still running, and I can still use my wheel (moza R12) to drive/shift gears.

Sometimes i can drive 20 minutes without a crash, sometimes it takes 30 seconds. I have try many ways to fix this. I have a good PC (AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 4080 super, 32 gb RAM), and my bios, windows, my NVIDIA drivers, the game : everything has the latest update. I try some oldest NVIDIA drivers but it didn't work. I deleted the game to make a clean install : same, no sucess. I don't overclock/underclock my GPU. Any ideas ?

    Since the last update
    V1.6.6.3.2927.AVX - Aug 9th 2025 provided by Steam.
The game loads to menu, then freezes as soon as I click on any of the menu items.
I have tried everything over the last 2 weeks, including reinstalling AMS2, my video drivers and Nvidia App, and even did a latest windows update rollback.
I use SimHub and Fanalab software which I disabled, I even started the game without plugging in my Fanatec gear and the same issue persists, as soon as I click on a menu item it freezes up.
I finally tried rolling back my game version to the last official release, and that solved the problem, has anyone else reported this issue?
V1.6.5.2.2890.AVX - Steam apps previous AMS2 official release Aug 5th 2025 runs without issues.

I have a freeze/crash issue with the last update (V1.6.6.3.2927.AVX) that is corrected by running a previous build, how do I find and submit log files to help define the issue?
    thanks for your help.

Hello Iverson03, I see you have issues similar to mine with game freezing and crash, although yours is not as severe, (mine won't run at all) you might try the workaround that I found by rolling back your game version V1.6.6.3.2927.AVX, to the August 5th release V1.6.5.2.2890.AVX
This might allow you to run the game until a permanent solution is found.
I wish you luck in finding a fix.

later findings that might help, I tried this; I had Steam load game version V1.6.6.3, then I went to "documents" folder (under user name) and found the folder "Automobilista 2" and deleted everything in it, I was then able to load the menu without crashing, it was like a new install and I had to enter everything all over again, from my name, to the wheel setup, and all other settings. I was then able to use the game exactly like you described, "Sometimes I can drive 20 minutes without a crash, sometimes it takes 30 seconds." it kept happening over and over, until I again had Steam games revert to the last official release V1.6.5.2.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but I too am stumped.

Hello Michael, thanks for your comment. Will try your fix later. Out of curiosity, what are your PC components ? (you can see mine in my last post) Maybe there are similarities in our problems.

Here is the procedure for rolling back game versions in Steam.
1- go to your game library and right click on the game "Automobilista 2"
2- then in the menu that appears, select "Betas" another menu will appear.
3- in that menu select "Previous Official Build" and close the menu.
4- Steam will then start downloading a patch that will install the build you selected.
5- if you want to reinstall the latest build, select "None" and it will reinstall the latest version.
the patch takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on your internet speed. rollback step 1.jpg rollback step 2.jpg

Edit: small error in graphic I circled the wrong "previous build" V1.6.6.2 from August 5th as the last official build, when in fact is was one listed below that from July 2nd, V1.6.5.2 that loads when you do this procedure.

Thanks again for all the details. We don't have the same PC specs (CPU/GPU), and likewise for the controller (I have a MOZA R12 with Heusinksveld sprint). I don't think it's a hardware issue, but maybe I'm wrong. Don't have the time before the end of the week to try to roll back to a previous build and test it, but I will keep you updated :)

I get constant micro freezes only in MP. They seem to happen on specific turns most of the time after elevation changes with a viewpoint reset. The more players are on a server the worse it gets.
Also, most likely related to the same problem, when using racelab overlays times and other data from the severe is bugged. Dedicated or peer to peer both have the same problems.

    Things I already tried:
-Opening Ports for steam and ams2.
-Uninstall the game, delete both steam and documents folders for ams2 then reinstall.
-Cap fps to a point where my gpu and my cpu never go above 60% usage.
    -Both Fullscreen and Borderless.
    -Deactivate UDP Telemetry.

    PC Specs:
    Motherboard: msi x470 gaming pro
    GPU RTX 3070ti 8gb
    CPU Ryzen 5 5600x
    Ram 32gb 3200MHz
    Drive: 2tb m.2 SSD

I managed to Fix the Overlays by adding the AMS2AVX.exe to the firewall rules, but Lags still happen. They seem less frequently though and mostly on dedicated servers. I tried opening a range of ports used by the LFM severs to my router, but had no time to test it in a filled race yet. If that's the fix than hurray if not I would still like some help.

Bind a change/cycle camera button and use that to switch between views
