    Hello,

I just noticed that when cars have decals (like brand manufacturer)on tires, the decals seems to have a very low refresh rate, make them look like it's not smooth.
Difficult to explain but when you pass a car and on it side, it's like tire decals are turning in "low FPS" while everything else is perfectly smooth.
I'm playing on 60fps 4k projector, with high end PC. I tried to disable V sync or change some graphics settings, but of course nothing change.
I suppose it's the way the game is designed. But i found it very annoying.

Did you observed the same issue?

    Best regards

    Charles

thanks for your help. No it s not this phenomen.
It s really as if there was some missing frame rate, but only on decals, like stutters. But everything else is absolutly perfect.
It could be compared as reflexions actualisation on some game graphic settings(i think on RF2). Depending what you chose you have more or less actualisation of trees or circuit reflecting on hood, looking like a slide show if "low" in options
On these decals, its look like a very quick slide show....
    And now i saw it......

    Hi,
I just finished testing and finally figured out the cause of this problem. I'll make a video to show you.

To try to be quick and concise, I have a powerful PC: Core i7 14700, RTX 5080, 64GB DDR5... my only use is sim racing. All games run well in 4K with AA and details at max, and all are perfectly smooth at 4K resolution on 4k projector screen (60Hz)
I use vertical sync as much as possible, which I'm a fan, for fluidity and to fight micro-stuttering (but that's another topic).
I ran all the tests several times to check repeatability, one setting at a time, as well as combinations of settings. I also spent time on the Nvidia Control Panel settings to test the effects of all the parameters. It took me about 12 intense hours.

So several parameters influence this tire decals slideshow:

=> The number of cars in the race. The slideshow increases proportionally with the number of cars; up to 15 cars, it's barely noticeable, and at 47, it's at its maximum.

=> Vertical sync: If disabled, i couldsay the defect is totaly gone :) (but micro stuttering does occur:(:(, not a surprise).=> so this is the most effective

=> And finally, the number of pre-rendered frames ( graphics setting in the game), which goes from 1 to 4. Setting it to 1 gives the "best" result (repeatable with or without vertical sync).

    What doesn't affect:
Other graphics settings like resolution, antialiasing, or all other graphics settings...low, medium, high, ultra, nothing changes.
I've of course run the same tests with previous drivers, but nothing changes.

In the end, as we say in France, I'll have to choose between the plague and cholera. I think I'll choose the plague, that is to say, the fluidity with the tire decals in slide show (trying not to pay attention to it) because fluidity is more important to me.

Have a good day (video of problem comming soon)

    Charles

Ps: AMS2 is the only sim i've got this problem

Here is the vidéo on my yt Chanel. I don t drive this view of course usually but it was more convenient for showing the problem.
An easy way for tests was using this circuit and go Quickly next to other car looking how decals where turning ...

    Hello Ace,
Ok so i'm not the only one. Just one question, do you use Vsync?

    Hello,

When many vehicles are present in the game, such as in the pits, certain animations (e.g., wheel rotation) are displayed at a reduced speed to improve performance and maintain smooth gameplay. Disabling this optimization can cause a significant FPS drop, especially with grids of 33–40 vehicles. Please also go out on track to test whether the update rate improves for nearby cars, since the pits contain a higher number of vehicles.

    Hello Marcus,
Thank you for your kind response. To be precise, I noticed this weird rotation in full race on Le Mans when passing slower cars. =>large circuit, lots of overtakes between all categories, and lot's of cars.

But also, the weird rotation is directly linked to Vsync so not dependent of all parameters mentioned above. (in my configuration at least :))
When disabling V sync, decals are turning properly. But stuttering occurs (i'm too sentitive to this phenomen)

Cool thing would be to find why this weird decals turning with V sync on
