I was driving the P1-G58 around Bathurst in the rain and whilst in motion the sound of the rain was far to overpowering. It was loader than the vehicle engine and I felt like I was standing very close to a giant waterfall. This happens both in and out of traffic. When i came to stop the rain audio cuts hard to almost nothing. I tried reducing the sound fx, track surface, environment and vehicle sounds to zero however none of them had any effect..

Interested to know what do you guys think about this..?

Edit Add: To be clear the sound is the road surface water coming off the tyres. This is amplified off throttle and when weather slots are used for short races..

Rain doesn't make any extra sound, it is just visual.
I tried different audio settings but no rain-sounds

Edit 2: I can hear the rain only if i kill the engine and crack up the volume

I agree, it's way too loud. It's the sound of the water on the track as you drive through it. It should be tied to track or tyre volume but don't think it is.

The sound effect of driving through a puddle is a bit ridiculous too sounds like a gun shot....it took me several laps to figure it out as I would get startled thinking it was someone rear ending me at first lol

I thought the sound of the rain was mentioned, I can hear the sound from water from the tires. Don't think it is to loud. I am using stereo speakers perhaps that is why it isn't to loud for me

I discovered if you use weather slots on a short race the standing water is increased therefore this water sound coming off the tyres is also increased compared to a practice session.. This sound also amplifies as soon as you come off the throttle..

I should add that I find the Splash-effects are too loud both with headphones and VR-HMD. I have not tried using speakers (Surround mode) yet, that may have a different result.

Apologies as I did not communicate this correctly in my OP.. You are 100% right. It's the road surface water coming off the tyres.. I will update the OP..

I originally tried this and lowering some other sound options however it made little impact for me.. Hopefully in the future it will make bigger changes..

I tested the F1V10 G1 at Silverstone in light rain.. I noticed that the water track surface sound was again overpowering the screaming V10. This time it was intermittent as there was not much built up water.

I tried to capture this on replay to raise a bug however in replay cockpit mode the sound is not the same and this water surface sound is not as load..

    wierdo..
