Many of the 'join' buttons, like the multiplayer one, can't be accessed by the arrow keys in the keyboard (and the wheel, since my wheel is mapped to keyboard via j2key, since it's not detected properly. Also, even when you can select menu items, some of them can't be 'entered' by pressing the enter button, only left click will do. An example of this is the livery selection window. I need to map the H key to may wheel in order to even enter the menu, but after I'm there, even though I can highlight the livery I want, pressing enter actually cancels the selection. Only way is to left click with the mouse. Even on gamepad, livery can't be accessed because the showroom and liveries are both mapped to the Y button. All of this is to point out the bad inconsistencies with menu navigation, which mostly affects because: A) I mainly race in VR. B) My TS-PC Ferrari 488 isn't properly supported because of the heavily outdated SDK. - Ideally all of the menu items should have a consistent method of selection and cancellation accessible by all peripherals. - There should be controller options to map menu navigation to custom keys/buttons.
I also use joy2key for using arrow keys on my ts-pc but except then only assigned enter to middle joystick button and it makes most of the menu accessible. Currently using gaze control to where it can not navigate to. Let’s see what this updates bring with button mappings. oh and vr hud management is another under developed module…
