Hey all, I setup a championship racing season on the f1 gen 3. Full season. Ok during qualifying I'm in top 10. Come race time I can't keep pace at all. On straight aways they are passing me like I'm standing still. Why AI so much faster. Thanks.

What difficulty do you race? How long is the qualify set? The AI usally should be run with 20-30 minutes to get proper times. Can you record some clips of your driving when it happens including showing your inputs?

Oh ok, my 1st quali was set to 1hr 30 mins. I did about 30 min and just advanced it. Maybe that's what is going on. I advanced it and AI has no idea how to race. I will drop quali to 20 mind and go from there. Thank you

When you advance the session the final times you get for the ai will be created via a faster approximated simulation and might show some variation to what they could actually achieve if left to run the session normally. We do have calibration passes on them to get them in the ballpark but it really can't account fully for all environmental conditions and track evolution with the same fidelity as running the session normally.

In the first instance it would be worth setting you practice to the 30m you are going to run and let the ai complete the full session and see how that shakes out.

It's also worth noting that the shorter a qualifying session is the less chance there is to spread the ai out so sometimes traffic can become enough of a problem that some won't hit their full potential but my gut feeling is something in the 20-30m range should get you seeing their best in most cases subject to how the track condiitons and weather develop

Hello, I did try a 15 min quali to end and still getting dog walked on the straights. I can beat them in a corner if given the chance but absolutely destroyed on straights. I could be 500 meters ahead and I see the lights approaching fast on me and blow my doors off lol. This is so far in f1 and lmdh cars. 95% AI in championship mode.

That can be normal on those cars depending on the situation your and the opponents use or not of drs and higher deployemnt modes for the hybrid systems which the ai will use to attack you appropriately if they have them available.

Do you find the same issue if you use another high performance, high downforce, vehicle class which doesn't have those features? Of the modern stuff fitting the bill, LMP2 might be a reasonable test subject if you have the DLC but really any class you fancy without the toys should suffice
