It seems that now if I ALT-TAB out of AMS2 (required for some career add-on's) when I come back, I hear my mouse clicks and hear the cars but I am locked out. I cannot click on anything. It's as if something is preventing my mouse from changing anything on the screen. I have to kill the process in order to end AMS2. This is not a critical issue as I have found a work around, but I'm just wondering what changed. I have tried changing that setting that pauses AMS2 if you lose focus but this problem occurs regardless of that setting. Is this a Windows issue?
Do you have any third party software running that could interfere? Having ams2 out of focus works fine me at least
I doubt there's been any change to how AMS2 captures input in recent updates, with the significant exception the update that enabled AMS2 to continue running in the background, but that's a while ago. Have you been running without this problem for a while since that feature was introduced, and the problem only started occurring recently? One thing to try is windowed/borderless/fullscreen and see if it makes any difference.
Uh oh.. .. Yes actually. I just started a new career app called "Race Pace". It is amazing, but yes this started when I started using that app. It watches AMS2 for a race finish so runs on the side. I have to ALT-TAB out to "confirm" the finish in the app when I'm done with the race. I guess this could be a problem. Thanks for the insight. Thanks, I think the culprit may be the app that I'm running that logs the race but I will try it without that first then make the changes you recommended. Thanks both of you! I switched to borderless and now I can ALT-TAB with no issues. It makes me wonder, what am I losing, if anything lol? I didn't see any performance drop or graphics issues at all.
