Hi, I have a Reverb G2 and would like to activate ReShade. Works? Do you have any advice on which one to use and which profile to use? Is there a guide to follow? Thank you
Better don't use Reshade and use OpenComposite and OpenXR Toolkit. You can add sharpening with the toolkit: Campbell Suter (ZNix) / OpenComposite · GitLab Quickstart
It works great with OpenXR and Reshade. At least with my Valve Index. Tested it with Beat Saber & DCS Updated the VR toolkit and install instructions: VRToolkit
For racing I mostly use the generic_filmic_vr+ that is included in the toolkit. The ++ variant could also be an option if you running with high resoluion. (All the profiles are initially configured for the index)
I use Reshade in desktop mode i would be interested to hear people experience with a quest2 or pico headsets in VR And sharing ini file if possible
I can't get it to work with my Quest 3. It only affects my monitor. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and everything else I can think of but no go! It does not work with Steam VR either on my Quest. One question I have... does the game pick which Reshade.ini to use based on how you launch the game? Standard or VR? Reshade.ini for monitor or ReshadeVR.ini for VR? I tried removing the standard Reshade.ini and launch in Oculus mode but Reshade won't launch at all without it.
I have been out of AMS2 for a while now, was a busy time. To bad I do not have a VR set anymore. I really want to start again in VR but a whole new system and VR is not cheap nowadays. but reading about VR makes me wanna jump in again. I never used Reshade, In my eyes the standard VR experience is fine as it is.
AMS2 is very good in VR without the shaders. My only complaint are the jagged shadows. I know people turn them off completely but I believe it helps with emersion so I was hoping Reshade would help soften them a little. I think I have less money in my Quest 3 and 4070ti than the cost of triple screens and hardware to mount them.
IMHO AMS2 is the best VR racer, period. I have 200 hrs in game, 95% in VR on various headsets/GPU's. I believe I have tried EVERY solution known to mankind & AI to get the shadows at a decent level and all failed with honour. For me it stays a visual pukefest. WIthout shadow detail there are basic shadows so it's not completly lifeless tbh. Same with nighttime driving ... the lightingmodel makes it impossible to run at ultra on todays hardware in VR. A hard limit of the Madness engine Currently running on RTX 4090 w/ Reverb G2 with openVR & Crewchief. My settings are attached.
I just recently moved from a 3080 to 4080super and in daytime no need for any upscale or FFR tweaks it’s rock solid 90fps at max max settings including MSAA HIGH but nighttime and also rain put it on its knees still much worse than in other Sims I play there is something with AMS lighting model that in VR still could be optimized in my views then yes the perfect VR SIM it would be
