I had a go for the first time, and I drove the AJR around the modern Imola layout in all three sims to get an idea how they all compared. System is X470, Ryzen 3 1200, 16 GB RAM, Vega 56, 500 GB NVMe system disc, AMD RAID 1+0 data disc, G29 wheel/pedals.

    First the game:
    • Load times good
    • Graphics stuttery, but turning V-sync off in-game fixed this (180-240fps alone and 140fps with AI cars present (I forget how many, but about 15-20)
    • Graphically it is good
    • FFB floppy in the middle, but turning up the minimum torque to 80 fixed this
    • Can set controller mappings, but how do you save them?
    • This is a nice to have, but I'd like to assign a saved controller mapping to a car or car class
    • Can't see any mappings available for things like TC, mixture, etc.
    • You can't press buttons in the mappings screen to see what lights up, as doing so seems to navigate you around the UI
    • I can't workout how to unmap something (so it's blank), as everything I press causes it to be mapped
    • The naming for the brake bias mappings is somewhat unintuitive ("Brake bias forward" and "Brake bias rearward" or similar would be better)
    • Why are some items in uppercase (like RACE ENGINEER) while other are lowercase (like Spotter)?
    • There's no BT44 (yet?)
    Driving:
    • I found that AMS2 flattered my abilities - I could push very hard and it seemed difficult to spin
    • I did like the FFB and perhaps it was this that allowed me to correct every little slide better than I normally could
    • The AJR felt very softly sprung and very compliant over kerbs
    • Moving to AMS, this felt much stiffer and less compliant over kerbs, and the tyres seemed to have a much smaller grip window
    • Moving to rF2, this felt somewhat in between AMS and AMS2 in most regards
I know this is early access and that some of what I've mentioned may have been addressed elsewhere, so forgive me if my knowledge is not current. All in all though, I quite enjoyed it!
