I tried to search but wasn't able to find an answer to this. My guess would be no, but it would be cool knowing the AI has to deal with the same vehicle physics as the player. Or are the AI vehicles just realistically behaving ghost vehicles, mimicking the way they are meant to drive but "cheating"?
There is an answer about this somewhere but the short version is no they don't follow the same physics as that would require an extraordinary amount of computing power. They use a much more simplified system.
I figured, plus it's probably easier to make the AI competent this way. I know BeamNG uses real physics for AI vehicles, but you can't have that many vehicles at once and still run well.
