I've noticed that there is quite a bit gap in perfomance when I start the same race at day versus at night. This is the scenario I've "tested" with: v1.1.0.1, all graphics settings max, PP on but no effects like DoF or Bloom. V-Sync on, Triple Screens 5760x1080, FPS capped @59.99 by RTSS. GT3 Quick race at Nürburgring, 29 AI mixed GT3 class, starting a 20th position. When starting the race during daylight (11:00), FPS stay at 60 and never move anywhere. Without the FPS cap I'm between 90-110 FPS. When starting the same race at night (02:00), as soon as everybody starts to move, my FPS go down to around 40, mostly until I'm out of the Arena. From there onwards, it's stable 60 FPS again until the end of the race. Uncapped FPS at night are a bit lower, around 80-100. I can live with a low FPS start at nigth to have the game look fabulous everywhere else, but I'm still curious why nights are so much more taxing on my system.
It's due the shadows and such. For now I think it's wise to disable dusk/dawn and nighracing in AMS 2. Curious what Reiza thinks about this.
