I struggle with bots, they seem to run me off the road a lot. What should I expect from them? Will they stick to the racing line even if they have to drive through me to get there? What does the aggression setting actually do? Does the skill setting just work on lap times? Higher setting lower lap time or are they more 'skilful'? They seem to be better behaved on higher aggression settings which doesn't make sense unless I'm expecting the wrong thing. I do not expect the bots to ever behave like an unhappy 12 year old on any setting so what is the aggression setting for? Thanks for reading.
You need to learn to give them space. They will usually give space if you stick the nose in, but not always. You need to learn which corners you can try a pass and which ones you can't. If you are too slow out of a corner, they will push you out of the way and will not lift. If this keeps happening, lower the AI skill level. And increasing "aggression" can indeed make them more reactive and smart.
i am not sure if the ai is actually supposed to replicate reallife, but IRL u being next to someone doesnt automatically mean people will give u room, aspecially on the exit. even alot of online races, not just in this game but acc etc, are very friendly where people will just leave a car width throughout the whole turn and then compromise the inside guy's exit IRL inside guy doesnt care a hell lot about the outside guy, very apparent in formula 1, where they most of the time (aspecially in the front) will just use the racing line regardless if someone is there or not timestamp 11:43
Which class are you having this issue with? Cause with open wheelers it seems to be the opposite: they make way so you can pass, which as annoying as they ramming you.
