I can select 3840x2160 120hz, but I’m locked at 60fps. If I turn off Vsync, I’m still capped at 60. Even if I select 30hz, I’m still running at 60. It’s as if the game is ignoring whatever I set. All my other racing sims run at 120hz (max refresh of my monitor) with no issues. I’m not running RTSS or any other frame-cap software. And if I were, obviously it would affect all my other racing games as well - not just AMS2. Other clues: Pcars2 (same engine) runs at 120hz just fine. Vsync can be disabled (see below). In AMS2, when I disable Vysnc, I still get 60fps in the main menu. If I disable vsync in PC2, I get 1200+ fps in the main menu. It seems like AMS2 has an internal 60hz vsync that can’t be disabled. I’m running a 4090 and an i9-10900k (not that it matters). Has anyone else had this problem? And how did you fix it? I’ve reinstalled. Next step is to try it on my gaming notebook to see if it does the same thing there.
Unlikely but check in the Steam command-line options for the game that the command-line switch for in-game frame capping is not specified. Also, if using a NVIDIA card, go into the NV control panel and review the settings for AMS2AVX.exe
Thank you! Some time years ago I must have (probably experimenting with settings during the early access period) set the 60fps cap in the Nvidia control panel. That’s what the problem was. I totally forgot there was even an option to do it there. Thanks!!!
