Hi guys i have been having this problem where the cars that i drive and it has gradually gotten worst over the past 2 months where when im going fast and approching a corner and i break and shift down gears i hear the engine freezes up and the car stops slowing down and i end up in the wall, this has happend with every car atleaast that i have tried and on every track that i have tried, there are random times where i will go through the same corner that it always happends and the car will break no problems but when i go around and come back to the same corner it will happend agian i apply the breaks and the car will just shoot through the corner and does not respond to the breaks. I have reset my settings to default in setup and the problem was still there and with the new version release i think it has gotten way worst. I have a G920 wheel. Please help me if you can i miss having a good race in this game
You describe it very good. Your problem is (probably) that you are shortly braking so hard that the engine stops (and the tires shortly slide forward). This issue is even worse if you at the same time shift gears down. I have had this issue happening a lot of times - and I consider it a BUG. Or at least not realistic. Because in a RL car (tintop or formula) you will not be able to instantly stop the engine by braking and/or geardown while the car therefore slide forward without responding to steering input.. ByTheWay: Oh I forgot an advice. Dont brake so hard and gear down while you need response to steering input in corner entry.
Thank you for your reply. I have been using AMS 2 since pretty much is inception and I've done hundreds of races with various cars at various tracks and I know my breaking spots at each track for each vehicle and I can tell you this problem is not normal, I've tried breaking a little earlier than I would normally do and I still end up in the wall, the problem is even worst when there is another car ahead of me which can be understandable due to the slip stream.
Its pretty easy to prove/disprove. Just lower the brake power to the lowest value (80%?) and check if this still happens. Otherwise its a problem with your brake/pedal calib/setup - because otherwise everybody else would report this problem
This happening to me also. I only jumped back into rf2 after a year out and breaking as explained by KevinM. Nothing has changed since I last played rf2. Break sensitivity on 100. Re calibrated my Fanatec v3 pedals to no avail. Breaking seems non existence and if I break hard tires skids and into the wall. What’s changed?”
I've figured out a little breaking technique that is working but not 100% effective all the time, the technique is I break then wait about 3 seconds before I start downshifting and since I been doing that I notice the break is starting to respond much better, it still does lockup once in a while but alot less frequently with this technique, hope you try it and hope it works for u.
