I have a question regarding the Caterham 360R. I've searched both here and at Race Department and can't seem to find an existing answer. If it has been answered, maybe someone can point me to it. In-game, it says the 360R has a sequential gearbox and it behaves like a sequential gearbox. If you look down in the cockpit, though, there's an H-shifter there. I know that I can just use the H-shifter controller settings if I want, but the clutch doesn't behave like a proper H-shift car (evidently because it is actually a sequential car in the game's internal workings). In the 360R video below, the driver is clearly using an H-shifter. Caterham 360R at Oulton Park So, my question is should this car really be an H-shifted car in the game or what? .
As far as I'm aware Caterham use a mechanical sequential style 6-speed on the sequential models rather than a paddle set up seen in most supercars. edit:
Thanks for the reply, David. The lever-versus-paddle-shifter setup is a little to the side of my question. I was referring to the H-pattern gear shift found in the 360R in the game. Here's a screenshot: In the video linked-to above and in this article, the 360R is shown with an H-pattern shifter. Here's a photo: Maybe the 360R is available with an optional lever-style sequential shifter and that's what we actually drive in the game, while the in-game car model is based on the standard 360R including its H-pattern gear shift. It doesn't matter, it's just a thing I was wondering about. .
Yeah sorry got the wrong end of the stick a bit. I think the 620R is the only model which comes with sequential as standard. I think most other models come with a 5-speed manual as standard with an optional 6 speed upgrade. Beyond that any intricacies in the offerings will likely need someone who knows the lines better than I do. (also that screenshot looks better than reality)
