I’m having some issues with the audio levels between cars in cockpit view. Take the GT3s for example, the AMG is slightly muted in the cockpit view as you would expect but is still easily audible over surrounding opponent cars. Switch to the 720S and it’s barely audible compared to the external sound. The Stock cars are all spot on, the difference between external and internal sounds seem natural and I have no issue differentiating between my car and opponent cars. Often run P1 endurance races and the Ginetta sounds like thunder externally but is almost silent in cockpit view. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?
Replying to my own post in case this info helps someone else: Forgot to say I only noticed this after upgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10. In addition to the info above I also found that when using the look back function the audio would drop significantly. It seemed like it was missing audio channels, like a home theatre setup with 7.1 audio but missing the side and rear channels. I checked the windows settings and everything was set to stereo but found ‘spatial sound’ disabled. The option to use ‘Windows Sonic for Headphones’ was the only other option and this seems to have solved the issue. Not sure why with Stereo selected in game and Windows it should need this enabled.
I'm unfortunately no help on this situation... I was just getting frustrated that there's such a difference between in car sounds in a tin top and when you hit the rear view button... I get all my levels right for crew chief and discord in an open wheeler and then go to a tintop and I have to change everything and find a compromise so I'm not completely deaf if something is said whilst I'm looking backwards... Also is annoying for late night racing when I've got the volume just right for driving and then I look back and be forced to hope that I didn't wake anybody up... A slider to control the levels inside the cabin would help both of our issues...
