Controller settings

Hey guys, how do i copy my controller settings over from the public version to the beta version? I made a copy of the beta default controller profile and then pasted the one from the public release but no profiles showed up, only user set 1, 2 3 etc. When i pasted my beta controller profile back it did not restore my profiles. What have i missed? Cheers

Maybe the issue is it’s the default ones. Shouldn’t there be something with the setup files? It was a long time ago I did this so I’m a bit rusty

 

Good question, i do not have an answer for that.

 

My guess is that either the problem is that there is something inside the file that is different from the normal controller file and the beta controller file.
Or
Its not enough to copy the default.controllersettings.v1.03.sav over but also the default.localsettings.v1.03.sav and default.sav.
Im guessing here - but the times I have copied the controllersettings file back I have also copied the 2 others accompanying files back.

 

Maybe I should have copied those files as well. For some reason I thought the controller settings were exchangeable between the two versions but maybe not then.

 

To exclude that possibility you could make a compare with a hex editor. Checking the content size.

 

I got it sorted, had to copy and paste all four files in the folder. Cheers

 

My take on this issue is that in some way or another at least 2 or 3 of these "default" files are inter-related.
