    Hi there,

Just a quick questions to see if anyone has used LZX compression on AMS2 files.

I use the "Compactor" tool on my Assetto Corsa content folders without issue, as I have a massive library.

    Link:

    https://github.com/Freaky/Compactor

This tool (a frontend for Windows' built-in compression algorithms) saves me hundreds of GB of storage in exchange for ~2-3 second longer load times - all in a few clicks.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried using this tool with AMS2, and whether it's advisable. I know the game loads everything in one instance, as is usual for simulators, but I figured I should ask to see if anyone has ran into issues. In this case, I'd be using it on the "PakFiles" and "Vehicles" folders (where modded skins are stored).

AMS2 now has a near-200GB files size for me now, with both the stock content and about ~70GB of skins. Not a problem, it's worth every byte ;) but I'm always down for more space, especially if it might be in the tens of GBs.

Cheers to anyone who may know.

EDIT: Initial testing shows the standard AMS2 pakfiles are already compressed to their maximum.

The custom skin files, however, are not - compressing saved almost 50GB of space, at a near 90% compression ratio.

Will they be readable in game? I'll report back.
