I notice the same,I don't know if this buy design, It's strange you can stall the engine with no gears engaged. You can keep the engine running buy pressing the throttle during the end of the stop. if you let your engine rev on higher rpm, you can see a drop in revs at the moment the car hit the surface again, but it keeps running.
I think it's a bug, just like stalling at start line without clutch in even when in neutral unless there is something I'm missing.
The good old, days! Engines were not reliable! I'll run a few tests when i can to see if there is anything weird about this. Thanks for the feedback.
