Hi I recently upgraded to a new Fanatec CSW 2.5, with the Formula V2 wheel and Club Sport V3 Pedals. However I cannot get the wheel to work in AMS 2.

I've set the wheel to the "Fanatec CSW 2.5" in the "Control Scheme" tab of the Options > Controls menu. The buttons on the wheel work correctly and the pedals seem to work (albeit a bit weirdly), however, the steering axis does not work. The game does not register the steering at all. I've tried rebinding the steering in the "Edit Assignments" tab, but it is not recognised there either. When I go to bind the "Steer Left" and rotate the wheel left the game does not recognise that anything has happened and I have to press Escape to cancel. I also note that it doesn't work when I try to "Calibrate the wheel" on the "Control Scheme" tab: I see no input on the screen when rotating the wheel. I've tried using other models of Fanatec Wheels in the "Control Scheme" tab (e.g. CSW 2, CSL Elite, etc.), but none of those work either.

I'm running the latest Fanatec firmware and drivers and the wheel works absolutely fine in other games, for example, Assetto Corsa. It's only in AMS2 that I am hitting problems. My old wheel (a Thrustmaster F430) also worked fine in AMS2. This is a brand new machine with a fresh install of Windows as of a few days ago. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the game in Steam but it didn't help. I've tried unplugging every non-essential device from the PC leaving just keyboard, mouse and wheel, but this has also not helped.

GTX 1080, AMD Ryzen 5800, 32 Gb RAM, Windows 10 Pro

Have you tried deleting your Automobilista 2 folder under > Documents and re-run the calibration? I’ve got a CSW 2.5 too and it works perfectly.

Thanks for your reply. I've just tried as you've suggested, but no change: the steering is still not recognised.

One thing that is a bit strange is the wheel shows up twice in my USB Game Controllers:[IMG]

Nope, it is normal that the CSW 2.5 is shown twice in the menu, happens here, too.
Also Fanatec says in it’s manual that it is nothing to worry about.

Then I have no idea. Interestingly I just tried in Project Cars 2 and it has the same problem (other games such as AC do not). Perhaps not surprising since AMS2 and PC2 use the same engine underneath.

And I've fixed it!! I originally plugged it into a USB 3 port, I tried unplugging that and instead used a USB SS10 port and that worked! Still seems like a bug to me, as I say .. works fine in basically every other game except PC2/AMS2.

    Good you got it sorted.
Have fun with AMS2 and the CSW 2.5.

Thanks for your help :) Just gave it some laps with the Formula Trainer round Brands Hatch. Wow what a difference compared to my Thrustmaster F430 (it's an old budget wheel)! Before it was like having force feedback in black and white, but now it's in colour! And the load cell brake, I really struggled to not lock the brakes up on that car before .. but now .. nailing it every time, even after just a few laps. 100% happy with my purchase :D
