First, I really like the FFB Default + mode, near perfection. Sadly, I've lost the nice tire scrubbing effect I used to have when using a custom FFB file. Those files a great but also too complicated for the non-technical person to manage. Suggestion: The 4-5 effects all combined under 1 slider, needs to have their own sliders exposed to the user, or perhaps, provide an "advanced" option for people to expose those as individual controls.
Even though Im obviously a fan and proponent of custom files, and the extra layers of adjustment inside, I do semi agree with u, as it’s generally what pushed me down that path. the Default system always had to much of one thing and not enough of another for my preference. But was otherwise good. now after lots of experience I would say that the custom files aren’t actually that complicated if you just keep to the scale adjustments which are mostly self explanatory and can be treated just like individual sliders. it’s actually easier to understand each element than it was with the original Project cars with all its xyz’s etc. But I would say that having too many sliders might be a step to far towards that same PC1 experience, which would likely end in even more confused user errors and conflicting suggestions. I do like & I have brought this up before that having a extra Advanced menu with a 2 or 3 extra options would be great. It just depends on if the version of the later madness engine used still has that ability, as it was minimised for PC 2 , so may not be easy to do.
The scrub feel in the current rFuktor version really is quite special. First time I've felt the grip loss so clearly with my low-end wheel. Would be nice if that was somehow ported to the default FFB (sliders or not). As for the sliders, the only thing I'm really missing is an "enhanced braking feel" slider since sometimes it's very hard to feel where the braking threshold is and it's just kind of a mushy feeling coming through the steering under braking.
I just can't enjoy this FFB! Feels really dampened and maybe more like real steering but that isn't good for game FFB imo. It may be a matter of adjusting to suit my liking but I haven't been able to find a good setting.
