Hi all, I'm trying to figure out a problem with my personal feeling of the FFB in AMS since v1.0. I was not playing the Beta but I did play v0.98 quite a bit (and previous EA versions too) and since moving to v1.0 and deleting my profile, I can't stop thinking something has changed and the FFB is feeling strange now (as far as I'm concerned). I'm using a T300RS, with Pure 360Hz, FFB force +76 and LowForceBoost @40. I have some recollections of Boxer@Kansai in v0.967 where I could clearly feel ALL the car body movements (tyre+suspension travel) in the wheel. Especially in off-camber turns (understeer, then oversteer, etc.). Now my wheel feels floaty and sometimes, it seems I cannot feel some suspension moves. I also played with the Copa Montana@EasternCreek in v0.98 (I believe), and I could clearly feel suspension travel when taking some (slow) bumpy curves there (one especially, turn 3 I believe). Now I don't feel these as much as I can recall. Am I the only one getting that feeling? Especially that floaty wheel feeling (BoxerCup is what comes to my mind first). FFB feels more "remote" to me vs 0.98. At some point, I've started to think there was a Realfeel plugin issue. So I tried to play with the shortcuts and I could notice left CTRL+numpad key 2 seems to enable/disable the plugin. What it changes is that it gives a more reactive though less detailed FFB (much stronger). Is that normal ? Is there any way to track the RealFeel plugin status ? I cannot shake off the idea that something feels off now. However, I've been playing Assetto Corsa while waiting for AMS v1.0 and I may have grown acustomed to the former's FFB (though I used to prefer AMS' as much more detailed and feeling more "natural"). I've reinstalled the game from scratch (with new profile, etc.). Next move is trying to revert to 0.98. Any thought or help is welcome
Try reverting, if you find v0.9.8 is better for you, you can try copying your realfeelplugin.ini from it to v1.0 as realfeel settings have been adjusted a bit. I find it unlikely those changes would cause your perception, but its worth a try. Most cars received car updates but these shouldnt affect their FFB. The Montana in particular has changed little from v0.9.8 to v1.0 so any perceived differences are indeed likely to be settings-related.
Hi Renato, After much testing, I will just apologize for my initial post. I now think I dreamed of some ideal, miraculous feedback that even you guys, cannot provide right now. I think 2 weeks of Assetto and high expectations regarding v1.0 on my side just messed up my initial feeling about the FFB in AMS. I still think Boxer's steering is not stiff enough but I definitely get good vibes @Interlagos with that car. Also, F1'67's FFB is just grand ! Just wanted to provide you with an update. You may scrap the whole post if you wish.
