File location for vehicle setups?

I have a vehicle setup file with a .svm extension. Is there anyway to browse to it in game to load this setup?

Is there a specific directory it should be place in?

 

Yep! Go to: Documents\Automobilista\Userdata\YourName\Settings\
There you should see folders with tracknames: place the .svm file in the directory(ies) of the track(s) you want. Then fire up the game, and in the garage menu click on the "setup files" button: you will find your setup there...

I searched for svm files on my drive that has AMS installed which is different to my Documents drive. One more thing to back up if I do a clean install at some point.

 

Your welcome! I would even suggest to save your complete folder in Userdata (the one with 'YourName', one level earlier than 'Settings'): you have all your controls in there, the YourName.plr contains your preferences, etc.

 

Thanks for the info. Not being good at setups (even driving), where can I find setups shared, like many shared for AC.

 

The only place I know is at Race Department.
Imho default setups are pretty good…

 

When you say directories what do you mean?

 

I meant folders. In your settings you have a folder for every track: when you are in game and try to load a setup, by default you start with the one from the track you are on. You still can go through all the others but it is faster and more convenient to place directly the setup in each track folder.
