I am almost 80 and fear I don't have any more time left to invest fiddling around before pulling out the last remaining hair on my head! I have at least 400 hours into fiddling blindly before waving the white flag and posting here and giving up. I am so very, very, lost and was hoping to play with my grandson over Christmas This wheel is old (2011?). (In storage for 6 years but good as new) I don't know whose recommendations to follow for ffb as I am not sure what it compares to. It works fine with Iracing I have the csR elite wheel from fantec (discontinued) but supported. Is it the same game / wheel settings for a csl elite wheel? And what would they be for AMS2? Is there any consensus? I haven't sim raced in 6 years. I want to love this game, but I can't. Every ffb setting combination of wheel and in-game makes the steering feel vague OR ABSENT. I can feel curbs and some lateral slip but most cars remind me of my 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood ( if you were born this century think - COUCH OR CHESTERFIELD) This wheel is so old (2012?) and I don't know whose recommendations to follow for ffb as I am not sure what it compares to. I just read early on in this thread some settings IN AMS2 are only for a damn game pad (that would have been nice to have been pointed out.) I just need to know a rough estimate, please. do wheel settings act globally and trump game setting? I had amazing ffb 1x but did it by accident about 2 days ago. My wheel settings are different than the csl I think, but I am not sure why or even how. Can anyone offer a suggestion or maybe a starting point I can dial it in from? there is no FEI or BRF setting on this wheel What is an ini file???? These are the only wheel settings available on the csr elite wheel. My best attempt after hours fiddling with AMS2 but still horrible: Sen -sensitivity 900 FFB- force feedback 100 shock vibration - sho 100 dri- drift mode 0 ABS - abs vibration 70 LIN - linearity setting 0 DEA -dead zone setting 0 ***both of these seemingly important settings below do nothing on pc and only affect console play according to fanatec manual (THANKS FANATEC) **SPR **DPR pedals are v2s connected separately by usb and I can set brakeforce min max etc for them on fanatec settings pedals seem ok Please suggest BASIC AMS2 IN game settings as a base point AS WELL THANK YOU
Man I feel your pain. I can try to help as I have experience with a older Fanatec Porsche rim, similar era to your CSR E. The older bases have a fair amount of drag so using the DRI setting to 3 should help remove some of the dullness. I'd leave the other settings as you have them and play with the ingame settings now. Drop the in game Gain to 40 to 80 depending on how each car feels (on my current CSWv2 I can go from 40 to 100 depending on car then add some LFB upto 50 (0 is best for my wheel) FX can be high (0 to 85 for me)also and turn off the ingame dampening. What cars are you trying? I've found it makes a huge difference from car to car so choose a car and feel out what works and how each settings effects the feel , get it right and that should help you once you try other cars. Good luck mate and I hope something here or from someone else finds a good balance for you.
Thank you sir!! I will give that a go and even if it doesn't help please know your emotional support is perhaps even more important. thanks I only played Iracing before and I just run that as posted without any in game fussing. I had it stored for years. My grandkids think Iracing is for old farts. So I bought AC and it felt ok, almost as good as Iracing 'to me'(subjective opinion not a judgement) But my 12 year old won't shut up about AMS 2 and I researched a ton before buying it. looked amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew there would be a learning curve and its not really near 1.0 IMO. There is SO much to love about AMS 2 ..im pretty sure. I like to drive lower powered cars from street to F3. The only car that delivers what I expected is the little generic sprint hatchback (ie . some resistance and significant road feel) for me road feel is almost everything why I keep trying!!!!! I can almost enjoy the german group M3 and MB the M6 gt3 and 4 with exception of bouncy porshe but playable does not mean sim like.....at all. I lived in small open wheelers on Iracing but all the caterhams feel floaty --- not caterham front end floaty under acceleration but literally unrelated to any input at all.like on an air hockey table I just bought the Nur Ring and it is lovely to look at but its like...well awful to feel nothing much at all with most about surface track date beyond left and right. Thank you for your time and support.
Hi, Hey youngster! I too use a 2010 wheel and found the default ffb lacking. Then I tried custom ffb files from karsten...and its much better. silver-raw-6.6.5.16.zip Down load this file ...unzip it. Then open the mid level folder. Inside will be the ffb file. Copy this file and paste it inside your computers Documents/Automobilista 2 folder. In game try these settings ...Custom.....gain 40....lfb 70.... Fx 55... Dampening 0. Start with maybe one of the gt3 cars like the mercedes. Then put on the song Stagger Lee We youngins gotta stick together!
Hi, I thought I pasted direct link, but I see it didn't do it. The file is in the 2nd post in the thread Jedi linked. GL
