New Formula Extreme mini series at Phoenix Racing Club starting this Sunday November 6. Qualifying starts at 8:00pm UK time (12:00pm California, 3:00pm New York). The race is 60 minutes and at least one pit stop is required. One hour races are great with the F1 cars because pit strategy comes into play. The Formula Extreme has been excellent for racing because of the well balanced tire compounds. Some guys are doing one stop on mediums, some guys are doing two or three stops on softs or a mix of softs and mediums. At one race, a guy even switched to the hard compound when he had to make an early unscheduled pit for damage. Our experience with the Formula V10 was not as good. It seemed like the medium compound barely outlasted the soft compound, so the strategic options were not there.

The strategic options afforded by the well-balanced Soft and Medium tires made for some very interesting races. But Matt was easily the most consistent driver, finishing on the podium in each round.
