Hi girls and boys. This is my first post so please be gentle. Has anyone else noticed that since the last update the Retro Gen 2 has become more stable. Before they seemed very twitchy and unstable.
I haven't used the Gen 2 in some time, but in my subjective experience a lot of cars if not all have become more stable with v1.2. Probably the extensive revisions laid out in the patch notes. The Retro Gen 1 noticably lost it's understeer/oversteer behavior to some extent, which reminds me to finally try the Montana and the Trucks again.
Welcome to the Forum, man with the historical name. A fan of the Retro class1/2 its nice to see another member who drives the cars. in answer to op, I drove the Brabham and Lotus since release but not recent weeks. The cars imo improved over several updates with several tweeks to transmission line, tyres etc, I would think and from last time I drove that they have improved balance wise, given the condition they were in at release. Going back to try is something Im looking forward to and today seems like a good day. There is another long thread just for your information (in case you have not seen it) started with Class 1 Retro #1 Will get back to you ref op in due course. Meantime have fun. Arthur. P
I last drove these cars in November last year, and wasn't a big fan of their handling, so much so, that I haven't driven them since! I've been following the thread for a while too, so I'll be very interested in your findings. Maybe it'll be time for me to re-visit these cars again too.
Ha yes, Hi Arthur P. Tried the gen 2 Brabham online with others + ai, Lotus to follow, after your post (just a short test at a familiar track, and yes they are more balanced and therefore more stable, even in default. As indicated by the many tweeks they have had in logs. With a little effective setup, cars should be a blast more so than before. Will be trying the lotus next. Meantime have fun. Edit another great race Wed online at Interlagos outer/ fast humans and AI . BT44 felt very good and balance the setup a bit more for an extra -7sec
