We are running an F1 league, very fun, but we think the tyre degradation is too high compared to real life F1. The Ultrasofts in AMS only last for about 8 to 10 laps, and after that suddenly the grip decreases a lot, over the course of only a few laps. The Supersoft isn't much better. This requires early pitstops, much earlier than seen on tv. To back this up I looked into the actual data of last Brazil GP: Real life: 71 lap race (winner did a 1 stop, SS-S) AMS: 51 lap race (winner did a 2 stop, SS,S,SS) Comparing lap times of the first stint, from the 2 front runners of the race (5 safetycar laps at the start removed; all laps are on Supersoft) gives this chart: First thing to notice is the large difference in lap times: AMS is much faster. That can (only partially) be explained by 20 laps less fuel. But looking at degradation, it's interesting to see that in real life the laptimes are more or less constant, or maybe even a little bit quicker at the end. In AMS, the lap times are rising after lap 5 (yellow line went for a 2-stop and stopped at lap 12). And taknig into account that in real life data the tyres were also used in qualy and during the safetycar phase, it really seems the real tyres seem much more durable. So perhaps the degradation could be lowered and made more gradual, to make it more comparabel to real life? What do you think?
I would like to back-up what Erwin wrote! the Ultimates need that final touch to revive the 2017 F1 season during the upcoming winter-time as "realistic" as possible. I have similar feedback also running an F1-Ultimate-Championship. when the tyre-wear gets below 70% ... lap-times drop rapidly (and unfortunately not gradually). and using Interlagos as an example my Super-Softs were good for 10 laps before reaching that 70% mark. at 65% the car becomes a real challenge to keep on the track and lap-times drop accordingly! and no way like VET in Interlagos to run with the Super-Softs for 27 laps and squeezing out the best lap-time in his first stint just before pitting. in short: it would be great if you guys at Reiza could adapt the tyre-wear to the 2017 season as close as possible!
ThereĀ“s generally a performance surplus of 1-2% in all cars in the sim, a combination of some non-simulated or simplified variables and max track grip being slightly overdone. That and ERS mode being and full deployment all the time would account for the extra pace in race. Tire wear is indeed a bit off though, it will be fine tuned for the next update.
that is exactly what makes this Sim great! Thank you very much @Renato Simioni for listening despite hundreds of requests and so many (more important) stuff to take care of ... and all at the same time!
Dont know if it is the right thread but, Why did not include @REIZA the tyres degradation % with the HUD?. Of course incredible new HUD it must be said and works perfectly.
