Was trying out the game on Interlagos, and the 1960s Formula Vintage cars simply could not make the half of the turns without running off the track unless I dropped down to 1st gear and slowed to a crawl while the AI buzzed past me. If I tried to follow the AI into the turns at the same speed, braking point, and apex, I would end up in the grass or a wall. Am I doing something wrong? I see the AI can make these turns without issue, so either they are using different physics, or I am doing something gravely incorrect. Is there some trick to these early model F1 cars in tight turns? I know they raced at Monaco in the 1960s, so they should be able to make tight turns at something above a crawl speed. I don't have this issue in any other F1 cars from other years.
Remember its probably still almost the same as Project Cars ai which is even worse than the AI Grand Prix Legends had in 1998 so I'd guess AI is one of the last things on the list to sort out. You're right though the 60's cars currently have to much inherent understeer built into them so you just have to make sure you slow down more than you should really need too and 4 wheel drift the rest of the corner.
To me it feels like most open wheelers (maybe all?) are off with their steering ratio. Even if I reduce it from 20:1 to 14:1 in the setup it doesn´t make things much better. The angle of the virtual steering wheel doesn´t match my CSW 2.5´s movement so you have to drive these cars like a bus. I could reduce my max steering angle from 900 deg to say 540 deg but it still feels off somehow.
