Basically the game suddenly slows down to 30fps from the usual 60fps after driving for a few laps around what ever track I'm on even with no opponents around. I've tried slightly lowering the graphics settings and changing the FFB to 180hz, still remains. Not exactly sure what's causing this. Here's my specs: Intel Core i7-4790 3.60GHz 8GB Ram Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
Most likely you're running VSYNC which will TRY to get a perfect 60fps, but will drop to half of this if your system isn't capable of maintaining 60. So instead of 58 you get 30 and instead of 29 you get 15. Try turning off VSYNC (if you don't override this in the Nvidia settings you can set it in the Automobilista config utility where you set the resolution etc). Without VSYNC you also get less input lag and a better more responsive 'feel'.
I'm having similar problems also however, it's different I cannot live without vsync without vsync, the game runs in slow motion and fps oscillates cause lag and tearing with vsync, everything is great however, in the first or second lap I have fps drop to 59,58,57 mainly out of the garage it pisses very the problem just as I'm driving and if I leave the pits again in the same session, will not happen again I've tried lowering the graphics and still going I set a button also to open and close the HUD when I open it for the first time on the track, it's a locked sometimes it happens also with Limiter what am I doing wrong? not happen with the GSCE and my fps is good in ams, with everything in full my fps is about 150 I believe it would not have problems in using vsync 60 and alone on the track
Have you tried using a Max framerate lock via display setting to try prevent the FPS fluctuation? Much better solution for tearing then VSync, which should really be avoided if at all possible.
I tried to use max frame rate however, not smooth like vsync (also, i have tearing) I really don't know what to do
what is the best value in the max frame rate? My monitor is 60hz (samsung, 19 ') however at 60fps is not good (tearing, lag ..)
My old graphics card can just about manage 60fps, but it can dip when under heavy load. To prevent really bad stuttering, I use the following settings: Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Automobilista > Vertical Sync: Adaptive Nvidia Profile Inspector > Vertical Sync: Force On Nvidia Profile Inspector > Vertical Sync Tear Control > Adaptive If the framerate drops below 60, the graphics card automatically stops trying to provide a synced 60fps (this is often what causes stuttering) and just does the best it can, which might be something in the 50s. When it can reach 60fps again without straining, it syncs automatically.
