Hi I often have trouble loading the tracks and having a race. The game loads ok, but it hangs when loading a track Any ideas? Thanks
Any mods installed? Check Gamedata\Shared folder, it should only have coreshaders.mas in there and no loose files, which are often a culprit for errors. If that fails you might want to start off with a clean installation.
Thanks It's got tons of other loose files in there. Yes, I have tons of mods installed. I will perform a clean install rather than sort out that mess - I've no idea what's what. Maybe I should have used a mod injector then maybe I could have reversed the modding. Do you recommend staying away from all mods? Most I can manage without but some I do like
I believe most of the highest rated mods are standalone and / or don´t interfere with original game files. Unless you´re a power user who knows its way around how the game engine works and is able to fiddle with the files yourself, I´d recommend sticking to those. The loose shaders are most likely the reason for this too BTW.
Thanks very much I'll try installing a mod at a time with a mod injector, and only use simple or popular mods. I installed a lot of mods last time, but haven't used a lot of them much at all. Now I've tested them out, I will only install the ones I actually play frequently: Bathurst track and super V8 cars Renault Clio cup Maybe a few others like the Toyota Celica and a few skins
Spoke too son Even with a fresh install and very few mods it hangs I got this error message this time: Error loading mesh file SUPERV8_ARMS1_OFF.GMT to memory. It's OK now I did a trusty integrity verification via steam and it replaced 9 missing files, So I installed a fresh game and managed to break it within minutes. Idiots like me shouldn't be allowed to mod. Seems ok now though so I will leave well alone and enjoy the game. Thanks again
I'm also having problems and my shared folder only has coreshaders. I tried trace=2 but nothing is being logged??? How do I log in this newer version??? What this game and many other games these days do is don't log well the errors, so you are hunting around randomly. It's also common in other software too. Welcome to the future.
Run the game using the '-trace=2' command option through steam. This will produce a log in UserData\Log\trace.tx Run the game with "-trace=2" in Launch options (right click on the game in the Library - Properties - Set Launch Options") and then post a link to the log file created in "SteamApps\common\Automobilista\UserData\LOG\trace.txt" - IMPORTANT Remove this option afterwards - it stops the config app from working!
