Does anyone know how to isolate the missed shift gear grinding sound effect to lower it? I've tried turning down player engine, general car volume, sound effects, environment; nothing lowers the level of the gear grinding and it's driving me crazy...

You have to find the exact sound file causing this audio poo.
When you have found it either delete it or (prefered) rename it.
This strategy have worked great for me - because Reiza supposedly have other priorities :D
It is inside one of these folders:

I wish there are most "separate" audio controls for diferent effects.

Awesome thanks, I'll start there and see if I can tweak it. Yeah that sound effect definitely needs to be included in one of those sliders, it's insanely loud. And I don't want to turn down the master volume and lose any of the tire screeching, since that one is so quiet! IMO. So I gotta figure out how to isolate the misshift. Or stop misshifting...
