    Hey all,

    Trying my hand at creating a skin for the Ultima. I went into the Ultima_Race_dist file and made a copy. Removed the dist. Turned on -ShowLiveryIDs in steam. I downloaded the appropriate template, made some minor changes, saved as a .dds file in gimp then did the override stuff in the Ultima_Race file.
    Created a folder within the override directory and called it SlowAssDave
    I made sure to select livery "51", added my team name "SlowAssDave" and then under the "BODY" line I added "SlowAssDave/carskin.dds"

    When I open AMS2 I do not see any change.

    I think the issue may lie in the output format of my .dds file. I followed the directions for format in the override file, but for mimmaps I am a bit lost as to what type to pick. When I do export it only does the layer selected. I tried to create a group in Gimp that included all the layers, and export it that way, however when I preview the file is a bunch of pre-cut texture that runs off the workspace and makes the file like 6126x5129px in size. I tried to flatten the image and got the 4096x4096 file.

    Can anyone shed some light on where I may have my issue?

    You have pretty much nailed it, flatten the image, resize to 4096x4096 if need be then export as DXT1 with 'Generate mipmaps' selected.

    @Rob Thompson,

    Is there any last reason why my skins won't shown up?

    Am I naming the overwrite info correctly?

    Do I select default for mipmap output algorithm?
