Since there are tons of custom liveries and it's always a bit of a struggle to get the preview images quite nice to fit in with Reizas own images, I came up with a helping tool using Simhub, that allows everybody with a bit of photoeditor program knowledge to recreate Reiza like preview images. This little guide here will show you how you make a screenshot like on top and make it look like as close to Reizas previews as possible. Have in mind this is guide will not be very entry level, so it's directed towards people with a bit of experience in creating AMS2 liveries and exporting files in DDS format to AMS2. REQUIREMENTS: Photoediting Program like Affinity Photo, Adobe Photoshop or GIMP (free to use) Simhub (any version, you don't even gave to care about setting up a game connection) Nvidia Texture Tool Exporter (I won't explain how to use it in this guide though) STEP 1: Getting the right screenshot The big issue in taking a screenshot from the garage is finding the correct angle and camera setting to be Reizas own images which are just generated and not made with ingame camera. To solve this issue I created a Simhub overlay you can use, that will show you the precise angles to get the right screenshot. So following the download link below and download the overlay for Simhub. Open the file afterwards and a Simhub prompt will appear if you want to install this overlay which you confirm. DOWNLOAD: Aces AMS2 Preview Image Helper v1.0 - 05.02.2026 In Simhub, go to do Dash Studio on the left Click on the top tab Overlays and next on "New overlay layout" It was ask you to pick an Overlay to add, add the Preview Image Helper to your overlay. In the settings of this overlay change the visibility to manual to always show the overlay On your screen this fancy screen will now appear. This is showing you exactly how you want to line up the camera, to take a screenshot. Resize this overlay so it maxes out your heigth of your screen and place it horizontally centered Now it's time to boot up AMS2. Go the the livery you want to create the screenshot of and go to the garage and enter Photo Mode. Set Aperture to F16 and the Focal Length of the camera to 28mm. Now you will need to get to the exact position where your ingame view will match up with the overlay lines. It will take a moment and I highly recommend using a controller for this, with keyboard and mouse the camera will make sudden jumps so it's hard to adjust correctly. Your view doesn't have to align 100%, a good 90+% should be fine too. Here's a screenshot how I lined up the overlay for the preview image of the Manthey livery I made. Make sure click on "Take Picture" in AMS2 to make the screenshot. So if you did everything right you will have a clean screenshot that looks like this: STEP 2: Cutting the car out Now the photoediting program comes in. Open the image and use the marking tool of your prefence. I personally prefer the lasso tool in Affinity Photo, combined with holding SHIFT on the keyboard it can draw linear lines so I just cut along spot by spot around the edge of the car. My personal tip would be don't cut out and delete what you did, but create a mask for the cutout, so you can always readjust the mask if you need to. The original preview images are 2048x768, so match the size of your graphic to this. If you have an original preview image file of a car it's good to use it as reference where the car has to be positioned and sized. Once cut out, this is how it looks. I cut out wheels and wing parts here on purpose, which is for the optional next step. STEP 3: Applying the Reiza touch A cutout like this would work absolutely fine, I personally like to add one more touch to make them look absolutely Reiza-like. But for this you will need an original Reiza preview image (you could take a screenshot of the ingame car selection too, just make sure it's the big graphic when having selected the car and not the small one when selecting the livery) What makes the car look different than original preview images are bascially how the non-livery parts of the car look like ingame vs how they look in Reizas images. These are headlights, windows, tires and usally parts like grilles or wing parts. So you bascially just cut out these elements one by one and place it on your car. Use the scew tool to morph the added graphic exactly how it should sit on your image. So with everything in place, this is the final image that you achieve. Of course feel free to touch up a few minor things, fore example I increased the rear wing sideblade brightness and saturation Now it's time to export it via Nvidia Tool (or Photoshop DDS plugin), important to note is just that it has to be in DXT5 with Mipmap activated and the Alpha channel set to either Transparency or you set up an Alpha mask for the transparent background to work. So that's it. The whole progress once you're used to it shouldn't take more than like 10 minutes. It will look absolutely like every preview of Reiza, so it perfectly blends into the game. I hope the overlay and this guide might help a few fellow livery creators for their own preview images
Thank you Ace. I also hope that the further update, that promise some help to modding, will include some features for generate easily the previews. At least i hope for a preset view in the right position, to capture the screen immediately and also a "neutral" monochrome (white or fucsia) showroom to faster cut out the image.
