Hi... 50yr old VR (MQ3) sim race Noob. Have a Moza R12 v2 (and modded SRP lites with Alien Load Cell and 3D Rap ramps etc). Also have 3D Rap Feeling Pro haptic/rumble kit on my gas and brake and I also got the 4 universal corner/body/seat/pedal base mounts for other things I can put anywhere (and 2 fans lol). Since I am learning I need all the help I can get FELLING (and possibly NOT feeling) important things. Esp. balancing on the edge of sliding, lockup, understeer and oversteer etc. I read since I have rumbles/haptics, separating somethings out of FFB and to each pedal (and other areas) might be the best way to go. 3D Rap doesn't seem to answer ?. Can anyone help narrow some of this down for me? I guess starting with some suggested FFB files that work well with haptics/rumbles? Eg. latest one V7000 TopSpeed by @Danielkart . @Gasngrip sounds like it his might be good for me and might play nice with haptics/rumbles. BONUS any drivers with middle range Moza R12 +/- can also shed light on their Pit House and in game settings with suggested FFB files/configs? So overwhelmed with FFB files/settings, on top of Pit House on top of In Game settings. Seems like a lot of chance for mistakes defeating the FFB profile tweaks. FINALLY Any will work for beer consultants interested in helping me setup my Moza FFB and rumbles available? lol PM me plz. seriously. Thank you all very much! sssl Geo
Hello old man, welcome to the club of the old guard You have a lot of questions, and I think you've already informed yourself about a lot of things.I can only share a little from my perspective. But that doesn't mean it will necessarily be right for you, because you may have completely different preferences and ideas. There was a time when I separated the customizations for people without immersion hardware and those with immersion hardware.Until I realized that this wasn't actually necessary, because the in-game settings of Ams2 with (FX) can take over these sensations (increase or decrease). This means that if you have immersion hardware (butt kickers, tactile mats, motion, rumble motors on the pedals, VR), it can and will change your entire feedback from FFB. And that will vary greatly depending on your immersion hardware, but also depending on people's different perceptions. Example: You have rumble motors for your pedals, and it will give you good feedback, especially when braking.I have Motion, and it replaces the rumble motors for the pedals because otherwise, sensory overload can occur (which is the case for me).And that's exactly what can happen to you with FFB: if you get too much feedback with immersion hardware, you might feel less on the wheel. That's why my motto is: less is more, which means be careful and cautious with this immersion hardware. For me, the most important feedback in a simulation is always the feedback from the wheel and your hands, which brings us back to the in-game "FX" value. Adjust this value according to your preferences and your hardware. There is no perfect solution or perfect manual, but there is a perfect solution for you personally. You'll find it with lots of testing and your personal taste.
Thank you so much for the reply @Danielkart ! Really appreciate it. I am a very technical and analytical person and trying to prevent some paralysis by analysis. lol I agree with you. I feel with me learning cornering, braking, throttle control etc. I need to focus (and separate out) more on the vibrations/feedback that will teach me when to make a correction (eg. braking, steering, oversteer, understeer, sliding, lockup etc) ideally before it is needed or to late. As opposed the more immersive just "cool feeling" type things (engine, curbs?, shifting), which are certainly cool but I am thinking I can direct them to my seat or something. Keeping hands and feet for the important things. Keep certain things at the wheel. And possible other things to brake rumble and other to throttle rumble and possibly even different things others to separate pedal base and/or my frame and/or seat rumbles. I also read about 4 corners represent each wheel for spin or lockup. But not sure how well that would work or even help. Maybe front to back more the 4 corners? Anyway I'm not sure what and wear. I have to do more digging. Hopefully come across some more guides on that part. For now my number one thing is picking and sticking (hopefully) to an appropriate FFB with my R12 wheel and rumble options go from there while I learn more. Considering the above and can you recommend me one of your FFB files to start with (I think you have a few or someone else you think may be better one for me and my R12 with rumbles)? And hopefully some initial tips with it to get started or things I may need to adjust now or in near future? Thanks again sir! Geo
I recommend my latest file, V7000 Topspeed, but it can also be any other file from me, or files from other modders, or Reiza's defaults. There is no file specifically created for this. Decide based on your gut feeling, and it will be right
