I made a post about this in the news for pt2 thread, but I think it's worth it's own thread for visibility... I think something like this would go a long, long, long way in improving the usability of the map when out on track. A quick glance and you can see upcoming chance of rain, track status, whether there's rain incoming or out-going. It's also a very unique way of showing a bunch of crucial race-relevant information that as far I know no other game as done. Even if the weather doesn't work in the same way as it does in iRacing or GT7, where weather rolls in and out from outside the environment, (which is why they do the whole zoom in and out for their weather radar UI in-game), for our purposes something like this, where rain bubbles in and out of existence should suffice. I'm not a graphic designer, but I am a working VFX professional artist. This is just something I put together as a concept demo. I'm certain a proper graphic designer would do a much better job. Here's hoping the on-screen UI gets a style refresh that imo the game really needs. LMU and ACC are two examples of in-fame HUD UI that's modern and slick and communicates everything necessary.
