If you are going to host a race, be sure to check some parameters to make the race affordable.

    - if you are trying a new car/track combination, set a long practice (at least 30 minutes) to let drivers know the track/car and be able to set at least a base setup (gears, fuel). If you don't want a such long event, cut the qualy.
    - if you want a fun race, set damage OFF
    - set the penalties OFF until they get fixed or redefined by Reiza
    - if you want to race an specific car, be sure to allow the rest of the class, using setting "same class" instead "indentical"
    - if you want to run the race with damage, be sure to set the pit stop as manual and disallow pit penalties

This has been tweaked in the hot fix. I haven't tried yet but I'm super appreciative and hopeful.

If I host I still keep penalties on regardless of the issues with it. The alternative is people just straight-lining corners through the grass I guess. Combine that with no damage and you have wrecker paradise :D

It's a palliative meanwhile Reiza fix the current penalties. I didn't see drivers cutting the track as you said, instead I saw many drivers leave a race because unexpected penalties.

Yep, each to their own. That's my preference anyway.
