Hello! I recently picked up AMS2 over its exciting V1.4 I come from iRacing and having driven some of these tracks, I'm wondering how AMS2 develops their tracks. Are they laser scanned? Or developed by some other means? I'm especially curious on the accuracy of the local Brazilian tracks that AMS2 has
Many if not all are Laser scanned but great question on some of the lesser known tracks be interesting to hear from any of the devs about this stuff.
There's also the historic tracks it'd be interesting to learn since unless Reiza has a time machine they're unlikely to be laser scanned
Afaik none of the South American tracks are laserscanned, someone please correct if I'm wrong. The ones scanned for sure are Jerez, Spa (modern), Nordschleife and Long Beach, probably some more that I don't know/remember right now. Also afaik there's never been a proper answer to this from the devs.
How are the South American tracks developed? LIDAR? Also is Adelaide laser scanned? I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the game when I first bought it.
SA tracks are made "the old" way. So loads of photos and whatnot but no laserscan data (LIDAR = laserscanning). Not sure about Adelaide scan but I don't think so. I find it actually kinda strange why the devs can't give us a comprehensive list of scanned tracks. At least I haven't seen one.
I think Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Outlon Park, Donington and Cadwell Park are scanned. They are all owned by the same MSV group, and it seems to me that the scan comes with the license.
