I have just switched to a direct drive wheel base, and got a Penguin r/c button box. The setup works fine with iRacing, AC, and ACC. However, when I tried to get it work with AMS, I have an issue. The button box has a POV hat button constant on signal, and this makes AMS constantly recognize that input. This means I cannot bind any key or axes with the wheel box plugged in - but I do need to use paddle shifters. I contacted Penguin r/c and they told me they might need to work on a new firmware to solve the issue, but before that happens, I wonder if I can just change the settings manually in the .ini file.

Is there is any tutorial or guide that can help me manually edit the controller.ini file so I can bind all the keys and axes? How do I figure out, for example, what numbers to put in the brackets for Control - Fourth Gear="(1, 125)"?

    Thanks in advance.

Update: I kind of got around this issue:
    (1) Bind all the buttons to keyboard presses with joy2key
    (2) Launch AMS, make sure all controllers are detected so the controller order is correct
    (3) Unplug the button box, start setting key binds with keyboard
    (4) Plug the button box back in, and drive.

If you are like me who have more than 6 controllers:
    (1) Bind all the buttons to keyboard presses with joy2key
    (2) Unplug the button box then launch AMS, make sure all controllers apart from the button box are detected so the controller order is correct
    (3) Start setting key binds with keyboard
    (4) Drive, and then plug the button box back in. Make sure everything works fine.

Only have to do that once. After that just make sure you never hit "detect controllers" in the settings when the button box is plugged in.
