I'm not a big racing guy and I'm pretty new to sims so I don't know if I'm asking a really idiotic question, but I notice on the cart cars I can just assign push-to-pass to a simple button press, but with any of the modern F1 cars I have to juggle between qualifying and build etc. to use boost? Is that how it works in F1? Can't I just make a button for it like p2p?
I'm pretty sure even in the F1 cars that have actual ERS deployment modes you can cycle through, you can still press the button assigned as 'BOOST' and it will switch into the highest available mode while you're holding the button. It's assigned in the 'Vehicle' tab in controls. and yeah you can also use 'ERS mode increase/decrease' to cycle through the deployment modes and leave that mode toggled until you change it. The same Boost key activates the push to pass in the Indycar.
