I think the game needs a class to fill the big gap between the GT5 class, (which really are more like Mazda's MX5s ) and GT4. iRacing has the Toyota GR class which really doesn't have much more power/ratio than s MX-5 but it is clearly heavier and reacts more like a GT4. ACC has the TCX class (BMW M2). This is more powerful than the Toyota and imo a perfect bridge to GT I love the slow Ginettas, they are perfect for when I'm tired and when I feel like using the H shifter on a modern car, But like the MX-5 they are very light, don't require a lot of work on turns, just a slight tap on the brakes on modern tracks. Sometimes I fancy something with more kick and that I have to drive in a similar way to GT cars. I suspect that with 1.6 the GT4s will be more challenging to drive and the gap between GT5 and GT4 Will feel wider than ever. What do you think? I think the AMS2 community is very friendly to tight racing with slower cars and would welcome this class.
Have you considered German Group A, Sprint Race, or Stock Car 1999? Of these, the Sprint Race drives the closest to a GT car, but the top speed is gearing limited so avoid tracks with long straights.
They are good alternatives, but they have their own quirks because of their exotic nature. Which is awesome. Exciting rarities is what makes AMS2 so special. The Mini cups are fun for FWD racing, But there is not really a RWD Touring car for middle of the road bread and butter racing. Although probably the GT4 class is good enough for that for most people.
