Infos about various working windows (tyres, brakes).

    Hello,
    I was wondering it's possibile to know (or where to look at) to learn more about proper correct working windows for tyres and brakes.

    I'm referring to different gen car as well, like F1 Classic Gen 3 or HiTech Gen 2...is it possible to know if the different compounds have different temp working range? Also is there a target range between inner and outer (IMO) like 10 C° to be sure the contact patch is optimized (using telemetry of course)?

    Same for the braking disc...any info about correct temps? Or these data are not accessible and we must relay on the HUD colors only?

    Unfortunately we do not have data about ideal temps yet. One of us was working on a way to obtain the data from the game files, but has gone MIA for a bit.

    Worse comes to worst, we'll probably have to brute force it and test every car in-game individually...

    Yes, but it’s possible to get the data without driving. That’s why a tool to do everything would be good

    No info for those limits at Shared Memory or UDP but a very complete vehicle info is offered at cockpit hud.layout. And yes, you'll have to pay some attention to the numbers and colors at it.

    I myself use telemetry to monitor I-M-O tyre temps to adjust camber to 5-7°C (fronts) and 3-5°C (rears) and middle temp linearity to adjust pressure. You can than finetune (at your wish) lateral temps and longitudinal temps according to the ranges advised at Automobilista 2 wiki (I suppose the original data range came from RST software support).

    If using SimHub you can also develop a simple overlay to monitor instantaneous tyre temp differences.

    Totally agree, being able to get the proper data wihtout trial&error or doing 10483 laps with different cars would be much easier.

    Yup thank you, but I do race online with VR and with literally nothing on screen, working with telemetry (RST and Motec) to fine tune the car, so I was hoping to find some data rather then rely on colors (always difficoult both to drive and check data at the same time).

    Spent a few hours yesterday to tuning camber and pressure (using Motec) with Classic F1 Gen 4 at Silverstone, after reached a good balance with aero and mechanical grip (using RST).

    Pretty happy with the results in the end, but yet we are just assuming the 5-7° at the front and 3-5° is the right way to go (i assume it really depends on how the different simulators intend to simulate tyre temps and contact patch)...without mentioning we have no idea about proper tyre working windows for (in this case) soft or medium tyre, if not - again - checking colours while driving! Is 100 C° the sweet spot? Is there any working range like 90°-100° and outside this window we start to lose grip? Hard to tell without getting data with a tool as it has been mentioned before! :)

    Due to the fact there are so many cars and different tyres manufactureres and compounds, it would be just nice to have an idea about differents working range! :)

    The optimum temp differences between different sides of the tyres is for all tyres in AMS2. Asked the devs

    I'm on triples, lots of space at screen :). Anyway, it's not recomended to pay attention to other than driving but in Practice you can do a glance once in a while.

    I-M-O Tyre temps are effective for camber and pressure setup. Ideal tyre temp window is properly modded by Reiza as it seems to me but unfortunatelly not available by telemetry. For shure I would be very happy with ideal tyre temp for each brand compound but again we do have alternatives to live without them. Just read tyre colors during Practice, followed by telemetry analysis.
