Just testing FVintage for the first time, starting with the 67 car and the engine sound is very weak (in volume and quality/detail). It doesn't progress/increase in volume enough with acceleration and speed and there's hardly any depth to the sound. No intensity, no sense of grunt or power from the engine, very disconnected feeling... This is the first time i feel the sound is decoupled from the physics/car. Very early impressions, will do more testing and come back. I would like to make sure it isn't a bug, though. Cheers p.s.: I've deleted my old profile and created a fresh one.
I meant the V12. The V8 (FRetro sound) is fine. After more laps, i still feel the same. The sound is underwhelming and quite disconnected, lacks grunt and doesn't convey the acceleration and power well enough. I definitely ''feel'' the V8 much better than the V12. Will probably get better with time, once i get more used to it, and i don't doubt Dom knows what he is doing. May just be a case of expectations:reality. Find it hard to believe the sound would suck this much, but it may as well be so.
Well, I played a lot slimjim's 1967 mod back in the day + NIL's sound update (Matra/Ferrari), and to be honest, they sounded exactly the same, so either I got used to it and don't hear issues you're describing, or they aren't there at all.
I agree that the V8 is fine but the V12 sounds too synthetic, not raw enough. But it's certainly not spoiling my enjoyment of these great cars!
