    This usually happens when a setting is inverted (or should be when it isn't) it often happens when you set up controls in a new sim, as they all do it slightly differently. Look for any control setting with the word inverted next to it and try toggling it.

    Thank you for your reply I have looked at all the settings and unfortunately I'm still getting the issue of the throttle engaging itself ( accelerating on its own without input) so it's definitely a bit of mystery

    Actually looking closer at it, I'm not sure the invert option is in AMS2. It's in lots of other titles and it does cause this exact issue, but it might not be exactly that in this case.
    Another option is to rename your Automobilista 2 folder to something like Automobilista2OLD, and then the game will create a new one and you can set it up from scratch. This often fixes things.
    Does the accelerator slow down if you press it? What is the brake doing when you press it? you can cycle through the hud display to show the brake and gas bars

    @Luke Hardy

    Did you have a play around in fanatec's software? You can adjust your pedal inputs there. Most likely you need to apply a slight deadzone/minimum input level. You can do this by applying a tiny bit of pressure to your throttle and then setting that as the minimum input level. Your throttle is probably out putting signal. Not a bad idea to do the same thing for you break pedal also.
