You are right my question wasn't complete. How can I keep AMS2 running when not in focus, In single player I start thinking it is not possible due to Windows 10 changes.
its a game "issue", the game automatically pauses/releases your devices(steering wheel) when the window loses focus. an "easy" workaround would be to just remove the respective code, but if u dont know how todo that and the devs dont do it for you, than u have to live with how the game works :/
Had this happen to me at Azure yesterday for no reason whatsoever. Had been running lap after lap fine then BOOM lost all control of the wheel and straight into barrier I went, collecting another driver. Other games seem to be able to constrain mouse/controller control to the game window (with only an alt+tab or windows key to break out), why not this game?
Just been passed this spotter plugin.... It might solve the loss of control when out of focus? Join the pAMS2Spotter Discord Server! Why isn't this a thing already in this game to prevent it happening at all still stands.
There is a new launch command now that you can use to make the game running while not in focus. Right click on your Automobilista 2 (also works for Beta) application in your steam library and choose properties -> then enter this launch command to the launch command bar on the bottom under the general settings tab: -doNotPauseOnFocusLoss
You're replying to a message from 2022. There's an option in the game for this now. Just toggle it to Off when set to Full Screen.
I really hadn't realized it and I remembered having seen the information and shared it, thank you very much for the information.
Just an FYI for anyone else who might stumble onto this thread. It's only active for full screen, not windowed or borderless.
