In the hope of finding the root cause of the extra bounciness some cars/tracks have (camera math, track surface, neck absorption, suspension, porpoise effect, tires) I was thinking the issue might be directly related to a track being laser scanned or not.

A forum search provided some tracks as laser scanned, but not a complete list. I don't expect historic tracks to have laser scanned data ;)

Is there a formal list of tracks with laser scanning metadata? @CrimsonEminence

For the DLC tracks that may have gotten some track data from SMS, only Nurburgring, Daytona and Long Beach were laser-scanned in PC2. Daytona and Long Beach are pretty bumpy in AMS2 just as they are irl.

But a more likely correlation are old Reiza tracks that were ported from AMS1 where they had a bunch of added sine wave road mesh noise that translated very poorly to the Madness Engine (I recall at least Adelaide, Campo Grande and Goiania suffering from this) and that was greatly reduced by various updates. Then there's historic Hockenheim/Silverstone that are likely intentionally modelled as potato patches.

I found a repeatable pattern with the bounciness issue. Best of all, I can physically feel it in the motion rig, so its telemetry driven, not just "camera" issue since the intensity of bounciness greatly varies between 2 cars.

Track: Curitiba full (start/finish straight away is very bumpy area)
    Car 1:
Porsche GTE car bounces like crazy. Default Setup.
Car 2: BMW M8, way more stable, not bouncing like a Mexican Cholo bounce car.

    Potential Conclusion (theory)
The frequently-reported-but-never-explained bounciness problem could be suspension calculation or setting error, or even CoG (Center of Gravity) being offset in the Porche GTE, where the car might be rotating on an axis incorrectly set towards the rear of the car, thus accentuating the movement of the front of the car
