After installing the latest AMD driver 22.5.2 I'm finding AMS2 looks terrible anything in shadow is way too dark, inside the cockpit, stands, cars anything where direct sunlight is blocked is super dark, its like there is no ambient reflections at all.

Reverting the driver to 22.5.1 resolves the issue. I've tried uninstalling the game and deleting player profile.

Anyone else running AMD seeing this issue?
I notice its the same on PC2, but other games are fine.
    I'm running a RX6800XT.

Same card for me but is it an experimental version, I tend to only download the fully tested versions.

Its the latest full release, there was a preview driver earlier in the month - that also had the same issue for me

I don't know what the problem is then I'll keep the previous version.

Perhaps you wont have the issue, if you do you can revert back. Would be helpful to know either way.

I didn't try it as I use a driver update tool and when I scan, it doesn't offer me to update. I'll keep this driver as I know it's fine.

yeah but theres big performance gains in the new driver for DX11, so it would be nice to be able to use it.
you need to enable "recommended + optional" in order to see the driver

Exactly the same issue! Did you report it with the bug report tool in AMD panel?

Did you see an increase in performance for AMS2?

I did do a bug report, heard nothing. If more people report it, it will help it get traction.
I didnt test much but i got the impression it was good for 5-10fps, some of that may be down to not having to render details in the shadows!

Me too, only the fully approved versions and even those I only check every once in a while (every two months?)
Gave Radeon Software a go again earlier in the year hoping it had shed it's issues for me. It had not, driver crashes galore?!
I only install a new driver when I'm quite sure there's no glaring faults or other crap as reported here with the shadows.
Then I proceed to install omitting anything AMD and just do it directly through device manager. Voila, zero issues and I don't any of the features in Radeon Software anyway.
I set a fan curve through a piece of Gigabyte bloatware...
Interesting being an AMD user isn't it?
I'm likely going team green next upgrade.

AMD GPUs owner for years here

Been hearing these drivers issues for ages but honestly experienced very little of them
And the RADEON software features and UI are miles away from the Green team counterpart let’s be honest

if people struggle with colors I mean there is in Game tweaking you can also play with your monitor settings and ultimately I suggest to give Reshade a try as well

Have you installed this driver? It is the latest official driver.

Go to Suzuka at 16:00 on a sunny day, sit on the grid and tell me you can fix that.

Reshade(by Mikk...) and "exposure" setting in-game turned down a bit.
And you're looking at a different title altogether.

Sure I can do that and let you know

actually no I can do something better this weekend

I drive there considering I live 1.5ths from that track, sit with my A250 on the track front grid at 4pm as it’s supposed to be sunny, so I take a pic and share here

    what do you reckon?

Using a different shader but yes in principle it does improve the somehow cartoonish over exposed tone of the game

still gorgeous by default in comparison to other Sims

    ok ok
I recognize its darker than what I recall was showing the Game with the previous RADEON drivers
I did some runs at Suzuka indeed and this is not perfect light reflections indeed even with my Reshade and tweaking the colors/brightness in RADEON UI

what is weird though is that you mentioned PC2 being the same but I have the Game, gave it a run at Sakuto which is supposed to be Suzuka and it shows these reflections perfectly

I am in Japan as I mentioned above, and we have not yet received the Game update on Steam so maybe this has to do with Reiza more than AMD? its 8AM over her so hopefully I can confirm soon
