I am looking for "relatively quick" car but the race set-up needs a car with shortest range possible. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Shortest range?

What range are we talking here? Gears?

Or are you talking about a car that is easy to set up as the ranges for the set up are low?

For the latter I'd suggest the Formula Inter as you can only really change the tyre pressures, wing and the preferential set up options of brake bias/pressure and the steering ratio...

Sorry, I should have explained. I mean shortest distance the car can race before re-fueling.
Small tank + big thirst :D

    Weird question, I know

Are you trying to create a race scenario where a "fuel saving friendly" setup and driving style has as much effect on the outcome as possible? Because there are many factors that come in: Fuel spent over distance, fuel spent over time, tank size, refueling time, fuel saving potential based on aggressive/conservative setups, cars that can save a lot of fuel but become very boring while doing so, and other factors.

The only suggestion I have would be to check the car info spreadsheet from @Coanda - and then sort it by fuel tank size (it's listed), then try and find the car with the smallest tank and largest capacity engine (engine info column) and then do some trial and error testing.

Unless someone's got a list of (average) fuel consumption rates, in which case you could check that against tank size.

Coanda's car info sheet is found here:

Thank you everyone. The idea is to set up a just long enough where fuel saving could reduce stops to say only one and setting up a balancing scenario between stints and race pace. It'll be work in progress for a while I am sure.
The spreadsheet idea is excellent. Great start. Thank you very much

Here are two good candidates, based on distance you can drive on a full tank:
    • Caterham 620R
    • Formula USA 2023
    Other vehicles you might investigate:
    • ARC Camaro
    • Copa Montana
    • Copa Trucks
    • DPi
    • McLaren Senna
    • Mitsubishi Lancer RS
    • Superkart
