    Newbie here..
I’m migrating over from rFactor 2 and am looking for some help setting up AI. I like to recreate full distance full grid multi-class racing like the Daytona 24, Bathurst 12hr and Sebring 12hr etc. What’s the best AI settings to get the most realistic race experience? And by realistic I mean the odd Safety Car, a couple AI DNFs but not all of 3 cars finishing, a decent AI spread but not multiple laps between each car.

    Couple of other questions..
    - Do the AI run lower tanks and qualifying setups (e.g full battery deployment in LMDh) for Qualifying or do they just run the same setup/pace they will in the race?
    - Do they run their full tanks dry or pit based on other factors like tyre wear?
    - Do they run on the most rich fuel mix or just a regular or medium mix?
    - When they crash and receive a race ending level of damage do they retire or just reset back to the pits and go back out?

I know I’m probably being a bit greedy coming from the rFactor 2 level of configurability but any help will be much appreciated!

You can customize different individual AI parameters, including their reliability, race and qualifying performance and mistakes probability using a custom AI file, this thread explains everything about it. Information for Customizing AI drivers in AMS2. You can create custom AI files rather easily using some apps you can download over at Overtake.

    Regarding the other questions:
    * They run a lower fuel load on qualifying and use the max power available in the classes that have different engine modes.
*They will almost always max out on fuel and don't really take into account tire wear. But they do pit when there's a safety car, however not always intelligently.
    * I think they mix their settings as the race goes, at least the engine modes.
*The AI only retire from a crash if they lose a wheel or end up rolling, however they almost always pit and stay there a long time until repairs are completed. Sometimes you will see cars without a rear wing driving as if nothing happened.

The AI in AMS2 is quite dynamic but you will see a lot of pack racing and no amount of AI tweaks can mitigate that issue unfortunately. But you can have some very good and fun races.
