Handbrake is cool, I think. The rims are too expensive. (and ugly too.) Curious what else will be announced.

All I want from Fanatec are the base mounted official stalks for lights/wipers. Similar kind to what Moza released not so long ago...

I don't think the porsche wheel will be too expensive, I think it'll be priced for around 300$ considering it's a CSL product

I think there is a big chance for a Fanatec branded one.

Simagic also showed some at the Expo this year so next year maybe

That's good news, at least support will be continued and hopefully improved with Corsair's involvement.

I've had my CSL DD 8Nm for over a year now and have been plagued with the intermittent loss of connection, missed shifts etc. and have come to the conclusion that it is due to slippage on the naff plastic QR1.

I've been really reluctant to give them any more cash given my experience with the company but now that it is Corsair I may pull the trigger and get the QR2 in the hope that it'll fix the issue.

Some improvements to disconnection issues are present in the last firmware, driver 462: you can find it on their forum.
It should be specific to CS DD, not CSL: maybe it's worth a try anyway.

Thanks for the heads up, I think I'm up to date but will check that out.

My issue, I'm fairly sure, is due to the QR1 lite, it gets better if I wrap tape around the shaft to reduce slip and when the missed shift problem occurs I can see the segment display flickering until I push it back into position.

I've been wrestling with the problem for over a year now and thankfully the full disconnection problem went away about 6 months ago, now I think the slight movement of the wheel is causing a loss of contact between the pins and the wheelside.

Every little helps though so will look for the drivers now, thanks again.

Interestingly the fanatec control panel say I am up to date when I check but it is on 455. Downloading 462 direct now.

Fanatec has not returned, because it has never left! What happened was nothing more than a power struggle, I always said that the only thing at stake was who finally stayed with her. In fact, I bought a new circular rim weeks before the final Corsair acquisition to complement my Mclaren GT3 on my CSL DD 8, because I was clear that there would be no problem with it and so it was, zero problems with its acquisition. By the way, my CSL DD is from April 2022, I use QR1 Lite, and so far I have never had any problems with my base of any kind. My only precaution was to use silicone grease in the friction areas of the QR1 with the base shaft and always make sure to tighten the closure until it stops on the QR1, in addition to making sure that it fits perfectly in the shaft guide. I also now have no problem changing the rims on the fly even within the sim, a maneuver that is done in a few seconds, I simply have, of course, appropriate profiles in AMS2 for each type of rim since the "button panels" of the Mclaren GT3 and the new ClubSport 320 hoop + CSL V2 universal hub are different. As I say, so far very happy with all the Fanatec products (I also have some CSL Elite pedals).

Lucky you, but asserting that there is no problem because you've been fortunate is not a great argument. Go and have a search to see how many people have had disconnection problems with the CSL DD.

As for grease, that would make my problem worse because too much movement is the issue, I, like many others, have had to use tape to reduce the amount that the wheel slips on the shaft. Also, if you read your manual you'll see that it says NOT to completely tighten the QR1 lite to only go past the white line marked.

Not criticising you, I'm jealous that you have had no problems but mine is not even two years old and has had the issue since day one and I'm not alone.

I see the problem. You read the manual :) Seriously though, I've always had the Clubsport wheels and just recently bought the CSL WRC wheel. The QR1 Lite is not even close to the quality I'm used to. The entire wheel feels like a toy, but that QR1 is such trash. I broke the golden rule on my CSW 2.5 with the QR1 Lite and I tighten it until it stops, be damned the white line, and so far so good. The white line seems to be a "safe" area and they say you "may" have problem removing the wheel if you go beyond it, but I haven't experienced that yet. Good luck with yours.

Haha, me too bud, if I'm resorting to insulation tape you just know I've cranked that bad boy to max! :D

It sucks but it is what it is, I'm 95% sure at this point that the QR2 will fix it.

No, it's not luck, I simply always make rational and proportional use of the CSL DD base within the limits for which it was designed. The arrival of Direct Drive technology has caused many users, dragged along by many youtubers, to confuse these bases "with weight machines at the gym for arm training", subjecting them in many cases to totally unnecessary disproportionate abuse that they would never have thought of doing before with bases of straps, and evidently that is not the purpose for which they have generally been designed, except for some very high-end models designed expressly for professional use. A base like my CSL DD 8 has more than enough strength for what it was designed for, which is nothing other than transmitting, very closely to reality, the sensation of driving the vast majority of competition vehicles that we can have available in a simulator like AMS2, but there are certain limits that it is better not to try to replicate with it, because then it is not at all surprising that there are those who have even broken the odd QR1 Lite or even bent the axis of the base, you have to be aware of what that you have in hand and give it proper use as should be done with any tool, if we use a knife as a screwdriver it is very likely that we will damage the blade, and no, a CSL DD base has not been designed "to make an arm", but Yes, everyone can do what they want with their money, even buy something and then break it due to improper use, I am not the one to order anyone otherwise...

I can buy a used car for that much in the Midwest. One that starts, runs and drives. I like Fanatec products. I own their products. Two grand for a wheel? I think I will pass.
The wheel is very beautiful though.
